In a good move for consumers, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant cut in LPG prices for both domestic and commercial users. Effective from May, LPG price will be reduced by 4.74% or Rs 11.88 per kg, providing relief to households and businesses.
This price reduction is due to decline in global LPG costs, which has enabled OGRA to pass on the benefits to consumers. An 11.8 kg domestic gas cylinder will now cost Rs 2,814, while a commercial cylinder (45.4 kg) will cost Rs 10,826.
The move is expected to provide significant relief to households who are heavily dependent on LPG for cooking and other domestic purposes. The price reduction will also benefit commercial users like restaurants, hotels and industries, which use LPG as a fuel source.
Reduction in LPG prices is a result of the government's efforts to provide relief to consumers and control inflation. The move is also expected to boost economic activity, as lower fuel costs will lead to increased demand and consumption.
